Short, robust plants with large leaves which have a sweet taste. Use with tomatoes, olive oil, onions and Morzorella cheese. Hgt. 20in.<p>Basil Cinnamon; Bushy, tall habit with a sweet, cinnamon spicy taste with a hint of cloves. Decorative purple flower spikes. Delicious in dishes with tomato sauce. Hgt. 24in.<p>Basil Greek: Compact dwarf plants with rounded foliage. Lots of white flowers in summer. Fairly strong flavour with hints of anise-clove. Use in salads. vegetable gratins and dishes with tomato sauce. Hgt 4-6in.<p>Basil Purple Delight: Uniform plants dark purple leaves, compact habit and a good container plant. Full bodied, sweet yet very spicy flavour, superb for garnishing and flavouring. Hgt. 12-14in.<p>Basil Lemon; The typical Basil flavour is overshadowed by a wonderful aroma of sweet lemon. Delicious used with fish, peas and selected sweets. Hgt. 24in.
Basil Ararat; An old heirloom, distinct variety with dark green mottled foliage, seldom offered until recently. Fantastic aromatic, sweet and spicy taste. Hgt. 14-18in.

Cooking: Mild and sweet it is delicious in stuffings, soups, stews, omelettes, cheese dishes, fish sauces and salads. Sprinkle over pork, mutton, liver and veal before roasting and add to melted butter to garnish vegetables.<p>Companion Plant: Sow with Broccoli to repel the cabbage butterfly.<p>Nature's Remedy: Depresssion and hyprochandria are frequent problems today. Herbalists have always recommended Marjoram for this, to lower high blood pressure and combat headaches,and neuralgia. Much used as a tonic particularly after influenza and as a gentle mild laxative. Pour a cup of boiling water over 1 teaspoonful of fresh leaves, cover and leave for several minutes. Sweeten with honey if desired
